Pastor Brenda was born and raised in Beckley, WV. She earned her nursing degree in May 2006 from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in May 2013 from University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fl. She earned her Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg (now United Lutheran Seminary) in May 2017. Upon graduation she accepted a call to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Buffalo, NY.

In 2022, Pastor Brenda moved back to Florida to pursue a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Florida. Pastor Brenda decided to pursue this degree to gain more knowledge and experience to her social justice work that focuses on Health Care Justice and Health Care

Access. Pastor Brenda graduated with her Master of Public Health in May 2024.

Prior to ministry, Pastor Brenda served as a registered nurse since 2006 working primarily in critical care. Social Justice is a passion of Pastor Brenda’s work and she believes that each individual, created in the image God should be treated as such and works to make that seen in her community.

When not serving First Lutheran Church on Sundays, she works full time as a Health Educator with the Florida Department of Health in Sumter County. She resides with her family in Ocala, FL.
